Ayane Post Shippuuden

After Shippuuden times Ayane cuts her hair like in pre shippuuden again. She also dresses a bit more decently again (finally out of puberty...), wearing a neck high shirt beneath her usual clothes and keeping her pants a little longer. She also gets rid of her Konoha headband now because being on the run and wearing a sign that screams "Nuke-Nin" at everyone around is a bad idea when you're not Akatsuki quality of a ninja... Yeah, Ayane, great idea to not be a walking target anymore.

The story is a lot different now...

After Ayane's father goes missing, leaving her, her half-brother and stepmother behind, she first starts questioning her origin and roots. After research that was a hard task to do (with a lot of information deleted), Ayane finds out that the place her parents come from is an island in the east of Kiri Gakure where two villages were located, their residents being two clans. One was the Minamoto clan, the rather peaceful clan, and the other, the more aggressive and power-seeking clan, the Kimura clan. One day the Kimura clan attacked the Minamoto, creating a civil war for a few months in which the Minamoto clan had to submit eventually. The Minamoto became workers, sevants, slaves, anything to make the Kimura feel like the superior beings. In that time Kimura Arashi fell in love with a Minamoto slave named Kimie who gave birth to their daughter, Ayane. It wasn't long until a riot turned into another war. Like many others, Arashi and Kimie tried to flee from the island, however, Kimie was severely injured and died. The Kimura did not plan on showing mercy this time. Especially their leader was dead set on slaughtering every single Minamoto. Arashi managed to escape together with his one-year-old daughter and landed in front of the gates to Konoha Gakure where he "pleaded for sanctuary". The Hokage allowed him to stay in the village and so Arashi tried a new life together with Ayane. Only a few years later he got to know a woman who could heal his wounds. They had another child, Ayane's half-brother - Kaito.

Ayane was sure then, that her father's vanishing had to do with the civil war on Kakushigoto (the island mentioned above). So she sets herself the goal to find the remaining Minamoto and save them from injustice. It's not as hard anyway if all the Minamoto have white hair, right? How hard can it be... Well, the first obstacle should be leaving the village. Tsunade was anything but okay with Ayane's plans and did not allow her to take any actions in that direction. Ayane however disobeyed. She decided to become a missing nin to achieve her goals in return. An old....friend, or so, is motivated to help Ayane with her deed - Aoko. She's a girl from Kiri Gakure, of the same age as Ayane and basically her "secret" admirer. Aoko gives up on her freshly obtained Chuunin rank to join her childhood crush and protect her. Since Ayane knows that she's actually not a really good ninja (and Aoko is!) she gladly accepts her help. That's how the two of them start their journey in search for the Minamoto survivors, oblivious to many more obstacles to come...
